“4 simple steps to print perfection”
Prepare your files
This is probably the most important bit, we are happy to support you with a phone call or email and would rather talk you through this than you feel disappointed with the results, so here goes!
At Format Print Studio we have invested heavily in colour management to bring consistency and accuracy to our workflow, having your own calibrated monitor does offers you the opportunity to know what you see will be similar to what we see in the print, however we can take total control and adjust your files for you, just ask at the time of ordering.
If in doubt we can offer a test strip service too! (£3.00) where we will print a small section of your print and send it to you via Royal Mail First Class.
We accept all files but prefer Jpeg or Tiff files, again if this is confusing we are a phone call away.
Ideally size your work in Photoshop/Lightroom/Capture One, we print with a default of 0.25” border.
We are happy to size your files accordingly or to review them to see if they are high enough resolution to print at your required size.
Here’s a short tutorial that may help-
And if you would like us to make a test strip, for instance if you are a little unsure if you are seeing the correct colours on your computer’s monitor, we can print you a 15cm x 5cm section and send it in the post the same day, you can choose from what section by watching this tutorial, alternatively we can do this for you!
2. Upload your files via “We Transfer” or simply attached to an email, you can even drop in to see us so that you can review your work on one of our calibrated screens. Alternatively posting a memory stick works too!
We like to use We Transfer www.wetransfer.com it’s simple, safe and virtually fool proof! No need to sign up and it’s free!
Use our email address to send your files to us mark@formatprintstudio.uk
